Such monetary benefits are designed to support students when the worst happens to ensure that associated financial burdens are kept as low as possible during this period of distress.
For example, getting injured whilst engaging in your institution’s sports clubs and other societies may mean hospital stays, taxis to and from university or outpatient appointments, dental work, loss of earnings, physiotherapy, even examination resits/course deferment expenses.
