Swimbooker Insurance Zone

Introduction

With effect from 1st November 2023 Marsh Sport are the appointed insurance broker to Swimbooker.

This Insurance Zone sets out details of the benefits and insurance provided as part of your Swimbooker membership, how to report an incident and some frequently asked questions.

This cover applies only to activities authorised or recognised by Swimbooker

The policy covers Swimbooker+ members only.

There are 3 levels of Swimbooker membership and the benefits provided are dependent upon your membership category of Basic, Swimbooker+ or Swimbooker+ Pro. 

The insurance is underwritten by Aviva, and details of the levels of cover available are below:

Personal accident insurance benefit levels

 

Accidental bodily injury resulting in:  

Coma Benefit (up to a maximum of 730 days)

£50 per day for each day  
Funeral Expenses  Up to £10,000
Hospitalisation (up to £750) £50 per day

Accidental bodily injury resulting in:

Damage to Personal Property  Up to £250
Dental & Optical Expenses  Up to £250
Funeral Expenses  Up to £10,000
Hospitalisation (up to £750) £50 per day
Loss/Theft/Damage to Rods, Tackle and Equipment  Up to £350
Medical Expenses (Including Surgery, X-rays & Scans)  Up to £500
Physiotherapy  Up to £250
Primary Dislocation  Up to £250
Rehabilitation Expenses  Up to £5,000

•      Damage/loss/theft of your fishing equipment during your trip (£50 excess applies)

•      Up to £100 to replace your fishing pass if it is lost or stolen during your trip

Shoulder Blade (Scapula) £250

Frequently Asked Questions

As part of your membership you will receive a wide range of personal accident benefits and cover for Loss/Theft/Damage to Rods, Tackle and Equipment.

Cover commences from when an Insured Person arrives at fishing grounds and will terminate when an Insured person leaves the Fishing ground.

£50 excess applies to any claims relating to Loss/Theft/Damage to Rods, Tackle and Equipment

Claims are typically processed within a 14 day turnaround

You must be able to prove that you were responsible for the lost, stolen or damaged items and the purchase price. If you do not do this, it may affect your claim.

Aviva will not pay for the following

  • The first £50 for each claim relating Loss/Theft/Damage to Rods, Tackle and Equipment.
  • Cover is excluded whilst travelling to and from the fishing grounds.
  • Deliberate or malicious damage to equipment caused by the Insured Person.
  • Loss or damage to equipment caused by the Insured Person's carelessness or neglect.
  • Wear and tear, loss of value and damage caused by moth or vermin, or any process of cleaning, repairing or restoring.
  • Losses from motor vehicles other than whilst loading and unloading the vehicle.
  • Equipment that is damaged while it is being used.
